ABOUT KATYA KANN
BIOGRAPHY
Katya Kann is a Russian painter who grew up in Monaco before moving to London where she now resides.
Working primarily with oils, Katya draws inspiration from natural and figurative sources to create her own unique interpretations.
Originally an architect by education, she has a strong grasp of the structured order of the built environment. By applying order to paintings, she found harmony by balancing it against the chaotic nature of her subjects. This technique allows her to produce collections that exhibit clarity whilst also leaving room for a personal experience.
Her mission is to showcase the powerful form of therapy and healing of the natural world. More commonly than not forgotten or lost amidst busy lives and times of conflict.
In recent years, Katya has been working on pieces close to her heart which are due to be exhibited together as a themed collection. During this time, she has also been commissioned to partake in various projects including hyperrealism, abstract and gold leaf. Currently, her pieces are in private collections worldwide, in particular the UK, US, Monaco and Russia.
